Affirming their quest for world domination, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen purchased another Beverly Hills mansion for $17.5 million. Already acing life in social media, food, fashion, music, awards, books, politics and real estate, the celebrity couple’s knack for making news is, well, Legendary. Life is good.

Recently, Legend and Teigen listed their high-design Beverly Hills residence for $24 million, and revealed a third baby is on the way. So upgrading their living arrangement while downsizing expenses makes sense. Plus, this hard-working entertainment duo is always on the move anyway. Who’s to stop them from doing whatever they want?

From here, I can already see a future reality TV show, The Legends of Beverly Hills, where the growing Legend-Teigen clan navigates an impossibly busy life in their new panoramic fun palace. Episode 1: I Am Legend. Episode 2: The Virtual Trials of Teigen, where Chrissy juggles fashion, recipes, pregnancy and virtual pre-school. Can’t you virtually see it too?

Trading one multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills home for another coincides with the needs of this expanding family. Who can’t relate to that? At least their moving costs will be reasonable. Sally Forster Jones of Compass had the listing. Douglas Elliman’s Marshall Peck represented Legend and Teigen.

Legend and Teigen aren’t just sold on square footage and amenities. The stylish couple places a premium on design. They’ve scored again with this trophy home perched upon a private knoll. They simply traded monumental eclecticism and gilded glows for sleek skylights and privacy—while potentially saving $6.5 million

Less style for more convenience may be worth it. This estate is more open and family friendly than their previous Beverly Hills residence. After all, cement fireplaces, mezzanine floors and babies don’t mix well. Although there is another floor-to-ceiling, double-sided Ortal fireplace near a romantic formal dining room.

Custom built by JB Builders, the design-forward estate has a sleek, contemporary design with bespoke marble, wood details, and lofty 24-foot ceilings. The sun-soaked residence spans 10,700 square feet with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It features an indoor-outdoor California vibe, framed by huge sliding picture windows with canyon, sea and city vistas.

A curved driveway leads to a 6,600-square-foot landscaped motor court large enough for a prized car collection or some Hollywood-style reception event—like a red carpet baby shower. It could happen.

The gourmet kitchen boasts a reflective, polished marble wall and an oversized eat-in island. A mahogany-accented cocktail lounge doubles as a game parlor that overlooks the al fresco outdoor barbecue space. There’s also an office with walnut floors and floating shelves.

Amenities include a temperature-controlled wine cellar, and a 500-square-foot home theater with a 145-inch Dragonfly projection screen and built speakers. The expansive exterior terrace is highlighted by a 100-foot-long infinity saltwater pool with Baja shelf, a verdant lawn, a pool house, and a sunken sunset fire pit.

A soon-to-be baby-proofed, 30-foot interior bridge leads to the chic master suite accented with suede panel walls, 12-foot-wide white oak plank floors, and dual walk-in closets. Through pocket doors, a shaded balcony with recessed infrared heaters overlooks the property grounds and picturesque hillside. Each guest suite also offers balcony access.

Bathrooms include LED anti-steam electric mirrors, commercial-grade steam showers, and automated toilets. Three powder rooms integrate stone sinks and LED mirrors.

The efficient residence is secured by advanced technology—five tankless water heaters, five AC systems, 16 security cameras, and a Crestron smart-home system.
