Beverly Hills is one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Los Angeles County. Within its 5.7 square mile radius, Beverly Hills is home to more than 34,000 residents as well as thriving retail and commercial businesses. It is also home to Rodeo Drive, the center of one of the most famous and expensive shopping districts in the world, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors a year from around the globe. he city of Beverly Hills also has some of the largest and most extravagant homes in Los Angeles and the nation. In fact, in 2007, Coldwell Banker lists Beverly Hills as the most expensive housing market in the United States (for the second year in a row), with a median home price of over $2.2 million. An interesting study released by CEOs for Cities, by Joseph Cortright, suggest that there is a correlation between walking points and housing values. “Even in a turbulent economy, we know that walk-ability adds value to residential property just as additional square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms and other amenities do,” said Cortright. The study suggested that one walk point increase in value from $700- $3,000.

Beverly Hills is a full-service community with its own police, fire, water treatment and building inspection departments, among other services.
