Take advantage of the Extended First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit!

October 2, 2014

As the end of 2009 approaches, I would like to remind everyone that the home buyer tax credit has been extended until April 30th 2010.

What does this mean for home buyers? For first time home buyers, who haven’t owned a home in the last 3 years and are buying a primary residence, are eligible for a tax credit up to $8,000. The new legislation also expands the tax credit so that current homeowners who have lived at their primary residence for at least 5 consecutive years are eligible for up to $6,500. The new law has increased the income requirements for claiming the credit, making even more people eligible.
If you are in the market for a new home, now is one of the best times to buy and take advantage of the tax credit. Take a look at our extensive real estate property listings at Sally Forster Jones
