Design firm behind Markus Persson’s $70M spec manse gets ready to list another lavish estate

It may not be as pricey as the spec mansion Minecraft creator Markus Persson scooped up for $70 million — which listed for $85 million — but the Beverly Hills estate at 1251 Shadow Hill Way does have one thing in common — designer Joseph Ferrugio of Ferrugio Design + Associates.

Ferrugio Design, who partnered with developer Bruce Makowsky on Persson’s 23,000-square-foot mansion, announced its new Shadow Hills Way project, which hasn’t hit the MLS yet. Mauricio Umansky, Jon Grauman and Brendan Fitzpatrick of the Agency, along with Sally Forster Jones and Lisa Sockolov of John Aaroe Group are the listing agents, according to a representative of the Agency.

The contemporary-style, five-bedroom and six-bathroom property will ask $29.9 million, according to a listing video released Saturday. The 11,000-square-foot mansion is owned by an entity linked to developer Kambiz Hakim, which purchased the site in 2012 for $4.2 million, according to property records.

Located two minutes from the Beverly Hills Hotel, the new development has a fingerprint scanner to open the front door, which is made of black glass. There’s a backlit onyx bar, amethyst slab powder room and an elevator encased in resin. It also has a living green wall, a walk-in a wine room, a theater, a wellness center and a six-car “auto gallery”, according to listing details.
